About Honest QR

Honest QR is built and maintained by Alon Cohen, an independent developer based in the UK. Every line of code, every pricing decision, and every blog post on this site comes from one person who got tired of paying $79/month to generate a QR code for a coffee shop menu.

We exist because the QR code space is dominated by subscription businesses charging recurring fees for a feature that costs almost nothing to deliver. The math made no sense. So we built the alternative: a free static QR generator for everyone, and a one-time-payment dynamic QR product for people who need scan tracking and updatable destinations.

How we make decisions

Three rules drive every product call:

• No tricks. Limits are visible before you sign up. Trials never auto-charge without warning. Cancellation is one click.
• Static stays free. The free tier is not a trial. It will not be downgraded. Static QR codes cost us nothing to host, so they cost you nothing.
• One payment, forever. Pro and Business are one-time payments. You pay once, you own it. We are not a subscription pretending to be a product.

Articles on /blog, /guides, /use-cases, and /compare are written and edited by Alon Cohen unless otherwise noted. Every comparison page lists the date it was last verified against the competitor's public pricing. If you spot something inaccurate, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

What we don't do

No tracking pixels on emails you didn't opt into. No re-selling your scan data. No bait-and-switch on prices. No LinkedIn outreach campaigns. The product is the marketing.
