About Honest QR

Honest QR is built and maintained by Alon Cohen, an independent developer based in the UK. Every line of code, every pricing decision, and every blog post on this site comes from one person who got tired of how much QR platforms charge for a dynamic code — the kind you'd want for something as simple as a coffee shop menu you might update later.

We exist because the QR code space is dominated by tools that charge far more than the service costs to deliver — often tens of dollars a month, and well over a hundred at higher tiers (see our comparisons for current, dated pricing). The math made no sense. So we built the alternative: a free static QR generator for everyone, and fairly priced dynamic plans for people who need scan tracking and updatable destinations. Running redirects, storing scan history, and keeping your codes live is an ongoing cost, so dynamic plans are a subscription. How we make decisions

Three rules drive every product call:

• No tricks. Limits are visible before you sign up. Trials never auto-charge without warning. Cancellation is one click.
• Static stays free. The free tier is not a trial. It will not be downgraded. Static QR codes cost us nothing to host, so they cost you nothing.
• Fair price, no lock-in. Paid plans are subscriptions, because keeping dynamic codes live is an ongoing cost. We say so plainly. Every plan has a 7-day free trial, you can cancel in one click, and your codes keep working until the end of the period you already paid for.

Articles on /blog, /guides, /use-cases, and /compare are written and edited by Alon Cohen unless otherwise noted. Every comparison page lists the date it was last verified against the competitor's public pricing. If you spot something inaccurate, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

What we don't do

No tracking pixels on emails you didn't opt into. No re-selling your scan data. No bait-and-switch on prices. No LinkedIn outreach campaigns. The product is the marketing.
